Why Community Empowerment Matters

Empowering a community means giving people the tools, knowledge, and support they need to improve their own lives. In Kyanjiri, many adults face limited access to education, resources, and opportunities. By supporting adults alongside children, Start the Ripple fosters a stronger, more resilient community where families can thrive together. Empowered individuals contribute to a healthier, more prosperous community for everyone.

Our Impact So Far

• Hired 12 local teachers and staff, supporting livelihoods and strengthening the local economy.

• Established free weekly adult education courses, giving adults a second chance at learning and opening new opportunities.

• Provided monthly food support to 8 struggling families and 2 elderly members of the community.

• Helped children with clothing, shoes, sweaters, and basic medical treatment for common illnesses and injuries.

Our Vision Moving Forward

• Launch a community women’s group to support leadership, skills development, and empowerment.

• Expand adult education and community training programs.

• Create more jobs and stimulate local economic growth.

• Increase community outreach initiatives to reach more families and children in need.
