When I returned to Uganda in June 2022, I expected to see a foundation for a home. Instead, I found four unfinished classrooms. Elvic and Vicky had chosen to build a school first - and their family of seven would sleep in one of those classrooms to make it happen. This is when their dream became real.
In January 2020, I moved to Uganda for an office job at an NGO. I had no plans to start a nonprofit. But a simple compliment on a traditional dress became the beginning of a friendship that would change everything - and lead to the first school in a small village called Kyanjiri.
